PittGirl's anonymity was a breath of fresh air in the blogging realm. Not to mention, as a recent transplant to Pittsburgh, it was a way for me to personally get to know Pittsburgh gradually and with great humor. PG's unabashed love for the city was contagious and some of her silly nicknames for local celebs have been added to my own vernacular. May the Duke of Fug and LaMonte with his nut-hugging shorts dump a Zima in PittGirl's memory.
Even when there wasn't a proper hello.
I found her blog after reading Pittsburgh magazine, and was immediately taken by her pride in saying what she wants about people without knowing who she is. She puts down others physical appearance, but lacked the guts to show herself so she could be judged just as she judges. She would put down someone's athletic ability. She would "take on" others in the press and ridicule them, all the while those being "taken on"are all professionals at what they do, and have a name and face to associate with it.
Scott usually is a guy's name. I understand about staying anonymous to a point, but when you are talking about how she would attack others, to me, there's not much to say about someone who attacks others abilities when you know nothing about them to begin with.
Are you on vacation today or commenting voraciously while at work?
BurghBaby: Thanks for this post. I've been reading a few goodbyes, and I posted a little one of my own. She was the funniest damn Pittsburgh blogger out there. And, since you are in her company, that is really saying something.
ciao,
